In a world with so much at our fingertips and a constant stream of on-demand information, it can be difficult to set boundaries and be present in the moment.
Disconnecting from technology, finding that time to connect to yourself, finding beauty in simplicity and calming the mind can often seem like a daunting task.
The 5-4-3-2-1 method can help to bring the senses back to the present. Working backward from 5, use your senses to list things you notice around you. Start by listing five things you hear, then four things you see, then three things you can touch from where you are, two things you can smell, and one thing you can taste.
Take the time to really find attention in detail you might otherwise ignore ~ the colour variations in your clothes, sounds in the distance, the temperature of the air you breathe into the lungs.
Challenge yourself to connect to your senses for 5 mins every day this week. And be here now.
