I am a Person Centred Therapist and am passionate about good mental health and wellbeing. I am qualified, insured and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
At times life can feel overwhelming, stressful or lacking in joy or meaning, the talking therapy I offer provides a confidential and safe space for you to explore the difficulties you may be experiencing.
My areas of specialism are: Stress, Burnout, Anxiety, Depression, Addictions and Working with survivors of abuse of all kinds. I can also help with exploring your life path, your relationships and your body image or other topics you choose to bring in.
My inspiration comes from Carl Rogers one of the founding fathers of Counselling and Psychotherapy, the quote that really resonates with me is this one:
“People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying,”Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner.” I don't try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.” Carl R Rogers, A Way of Being
So working with you, I aim to honour who you are as a person, to be with you in a warm and non-judgemental way with no exceptions to this. I have found this to be the best soil for a growthful and meaningful interaction where you are able to, with my support, take a look at what is troubling you.
In my personal life I really enjoy meditation, yoga and walking in the Peak District. I am a parent and also have a dog (Michael) and a cat (Fern). Nature is one of my other passions and I have been a National trust member for many years.
